Saturday, July 4th was Hluvuku-Adsema’s board meeting. Important decisions were to be made. Should we buy a live lamb or 10 live chickens? The answer was 1 live lamb and 5 live chickens. Here’s a picture of the lamb.

The cabrito in all its glory
The board meeting was not exclusive to the immediate board of directors. It included both the board of directors and the integral employees that work at each one of the Hluvuku branches.

ME speaking at the board meeting
We started by slaughtering the livestock (this wasn’t mandatory, but I made sure to arrive early as not to miss the spectacle), then had a heavy hitting business meeting, and concluded with a feast that would make Dionysus a jealous man. During the meeting we touched on Hluvuku’s growth over the last year, plans for transition from micro-credit operator to micro bank, and the pending IT upgrade. It was definitely a decent use of a Saturday.
